South Base Lodge

South Base Lodge is home to Kids Group Lessons and Group lessons, available on Weekends & Holidays throughout the winter season. This Lodge also hosts a Guest Services and Rentals Location. If you wish to sign up for a Kids Group Lesson, South Base Lodge is your ideal place to be. Typically, for a faster pick up, choose South Base Lodge as your rental pick up location.

Adult Beginner Group Lessons

Helmets are mandatory in all Snow School lessons for participants who are 17 years of age and younger and strongly encouraged for all lesson participants.
Rentals and lift tickets are not included in the beginner group lesson; however, you can purchase a Beginner Bundle, which includes an Adult Beginner Group Lesson, a beginner lift ticket, and rentals.
To enjoy more runs with priority lift line access, guests must book a private lesson.
Yes, if you want to rebuild your confidence and start back at the beginning with the basics of skiing or snowboarding, you’re welcome to join a Beginner Group Lesson. Please note that these lessons always start from the very beginning and although some participants might progress quickly, the instructor will pace the lesson according to the lowest ability level within the group.
To advance your skiing or snowboarding to the next level, consider a Private Lesson. This personalized, one-on-one instruction helps you achieve your goals more quickly. Additionally, you can utilize our Snow How, our self-learn resource to help you on and off the mountain to refresh your skills or pick up some new tips and tricks.
Adult Beginner Group Lessons have a ratio of 7:1.
Our Beginner Group Lessons are designed for first-time skiers or snowboarders. These lessons start from the basics, covering foundational skills.
Adult Beginner Group Lessons are available daily at the Village Learning Centre, starting at 9:30AM with the last lesson at 5:00PM. Adult Beginner Group Lessons are also available daily at the South Learning Centre on weekends and holidays only, starting at 9:30AM with the last lesson at 5:00PM.

Price + HST. Lift tickets are mandatory for all snow school lessons and are sold separately for an additional fee. Lessons do not include equipment rentals and must be purchased separately. If you require rentals, please book in advance to ensure availability, and arrive at least 1 hour prior to your lesson start time to pick up your rentals at Village Activity Central or South Base Lodge Rentals location.



Lessons can be refunded if done more than 3 days prior to planned day of use by contacting refund@bluemountain.ca, and are non-refundable within 3 days of planned use. Resale is prohibited. Opening Day and Closing Day will be determined at the sole discretion of Blue Mountain Resort. All hours of operation are weather and conditions permitting, and are subject to change.
